EQUIPMENTS

  • Two Scanning Force Microscopes working in controlled atmosphere and different operation modes like SFM, FFM, and C-SFM.
  • Near-field Scanning Optical Microscope (NSOM) for spectroscopy ( MATGAS).
  • High resolution spectrometer with confocal microscope for micro-Raman and PL (MATGAS).
  • Diamond anvil cell for spectroscopic studies at high hydrostatic pressures and variable temperatures.
  • Spectroscopic ellipsometry (IR-VIS-UV).
  • Molecular-beam epitaxy facility for type IV semiconductors (ICMAB service).

RESEARCH LINES

We are experimental teams in charge of several Labs developing work in different research lines:

  • Surface crystallography and surface dynamics.
  • Surface modification (functionalization and manipulation) and nanotribology. 
  • Optical spectroscopy applications (Micro-Raman, Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, Spectroscopy at high hydrostatic pressures, Photoluminescence)
  • Near-field Scanning Optical Microscopy (NSOM)
  • Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs): preparation and characterization.
  • Molecular-beam epitaxy of Si-based nanostructures (using Si, Ge, C)
  • Crystal growth mechanisms.
  • Organic semiconductors.
  • Electron transport, electronic and optoelectronic properties.
